Linking Utopia Angel to Utopiapimp.com
Step 1: Download Utopia Angel from www.utopiatemple.com. Install it. If angel requests connection to the internet and you have a firewall installed, allow angel full access. Its not spyware and its not harmfull, it just display a small commercial window while its in use.
Step 2: Register on www.utopiapimp.com. Get a code from your monarch and join your kingdom account.
Step 3: Right-click on the tray-icon of utopia angel and click on forum agent. A window will pop up.
Step 4: Press the settings-button. Another window will pop up.
Step 5: Press on the New-button. A small form window will pop up.
Enter the following information in the appropriate fields as Shown below.
Angel settings are as follows:
Display name: UtopiaPimp
URL: http://utopiapimp.com/angelapi.aspx
Forum Name: This is the “exact name” of your province inside your kingdom. It is “not” your user name, but the province name you selected when you signed up to this UtopiaPimp.
Username: Username to UtopiaPimp.com.
User Password: Password to UtopiaPimp.com.
Forum Password: NOT Needed.

Database Moved
Hey all,
During our SOPA black out, I found it rather good to do some backend maintenance. So I finalized our move over to the new server by moving the Database.
Moving the database should speed things up as well as save on some money. We are saving $20.00 a month by making the move.
If you notice any problems that you have, please make me aware of it by emailing me or adding it to the comments.

Poll: Making Icons Bigger?
All,
Lets take a Poll: The current Icon selections are 16/16 pixels. Im wondering what you all think about increasing the size of the icons. They were designed back in 2000 for small computer screens. Maybe we can increase them to 32/32? What do you all think?
To put this into perspective for those that play World of Warcraft, they make their icons the size of 40/40 or even 64/64 pixels.

Early indications show that our operation was a success. Our report shows that this province has been attacked a little in the last month. Remember, there are few rewards for attacking a badly hit province, as the easily captured resources have already been taken.

Why Are there Duplicate Provinces in my Kingdom Page?
A user asked a question via email and I thought I would reiterate it on the blog so everyone understands it.
A province was duplicated twice in the kingdom listing, and they didn’t understand why it was and it was creating a small problem while they were in war.
So I did my best to answer the question.
There is a lot of parsing going on. When spells, Ops, Captures or any other data with a province name that isn’t currently in the DB is posted, we create a new province for that kingdom in our Database.
So lets say “HumptyDumpty(1:23)” was posted to our system with a spell. If we don’t find him in the system, we create him. Since we create him this once, Another posting with the name “Humpty Dumpty (1:23)” might have been posted. The difference in their names is 2 spaces, but in our system, they are two totally different provinces. Sadly, my parsing can also only keep up with most cases. Utopia and other Agents such as Angel and Ultima don’t tend to help at all because they all might format a name differently over time. So I make sure I hit all those cases, but there are times where two names could slip through my parsing and I not catch it. So sadly, I can’t get every iteration of the same province that might have different names, but be the same province. I am improving my code every day though! I go through about 200 parsing issues every day before I actually start coding on pimp. Thats 200 separate issues with parsing that at times just get passed through the system and at times get caught by my internal Parsing Engine.
So while I can’t do much about it now, over time, I hope that the code will improve against the countless iterations of a certain province I deal with. So if you don’t mind, can you please let me know if you post something that just duplicated a province. I will without a doubt look into it. I just can’t do anything about some type of error unless I know about it and can recreate the problem over and over again.
